Ya estaban tardando. Google tiene mail, maps, buscador, calendar,… que le faltaba? el navegador, y ya lo tienen. No pongo aquí enlaces de descarga porque como supondréis buscarlo en google no va a ser complicado. Se llama “google chrome”, ha salido hace nada en beta y yo llevo un par de días usandolo.

La verdad es que visualmente me encanta, en rápidez y consumo de memoria yo lo veo muy similar a mi hasta ahora fiel amigo firefox, tiene un modo “incognito” que no almacena cookies ni contraseñas ni nada que puede ser util dependiendo de donde esté el pc,… eso sí, obviamente es una beta y habrá que darle tiempo. Estamos acostumbrados a los complementos del firefox y a otros “lujos” que aun no tiene chrome.

Sin embargo, chrome ha empezado con polémica, el típico acuerdo de licencia que aceptas cuando lo instalas asusta un poco:

This license is for the sole purpose of enabling Google to display, distribute and promote the Services and may be revoked for certain Services as defined in the Additional Terms of those Services.

11.2   You agree that this license includes a right for Google to make such Content available to other companies, organizations or individuals with whom Google has relationships for the provision of syndicated services, and to use such Content in connection with the provision of those services.

11.3   You understand that Google, in performing the required technical steps to provide the Services to our users, may (a) transmit or distribute your Content over various public networks and in various media; and (b) make such changes to your Content as are necessary to conform and adapt that Content to the technical requirements of connecting networks, devices, services or media. You agree that this license shall permit Google to take these actions.

11.4   You confirm and warrant to Google that you have all the rights, power and authority necessary to grant the above license.

Si, corres rumores de que google chrome debería llamarse google keylogger… Y la verdad es que ese ha sido siempre el espíritu de google, quiere saberlo todo. En cuanto se oyeron en internet las primeras quejas google se retractó y cambió este punto de los términos por:

Sí, se echaron para atrás, pero la intentarón meter a ver si colaba…Si alguien ha visto el musical de “we will rock you” google le recordará al control de “radio ga-ga”. De todos modos chrome es totalmente libre, puedes bajar el código y modificar lo que quieras, la verdad es que el navegador tienen una pinta muy buena, lo veremos crecer y a ver que pasa.
